Monday:
Crock Pot Chicken with Black Beans and Cream Cheese from Food.com
Slow cooker recipes are great for when I won't be home in the evening because they take no prep when we get home. I have been trying lately to do some of the prep work for the next nights dinner the night before. While that surely helps out with prep time, there is nothing better than coming home to a meal that is already finished!
Tuesday:
Goolosh
Very easy recipe and one of the few that my mother makes.
Ingredients
1lb ground meat (Beef, Chicken, Turkey...) I used Turkey
1 large can stewed tomatoes
1 1/2 cups elbow noodles
Boil noodles. Brown meat. Stir in tomatoes. Stir in strained noodles.
Serve with cheese or sugar on top (my family's favorite). Can also be put into buttered bread and eaten kind of like tacos.
Wednesday:
Mushroom Stroganoff from Food.com
Yum! Used portabella caps for the mushrooms and an onion for the shallot.
Thursday:
Frikadilla (as my grandma spells it) or Frikadeller as it should be called. This is a family favorite and is more or less Danish Meatballs. Serve with boiled red potatoes. I will do a more detailed post on this Grandma Food very soon.
Friday:
We went out to eat at Red Pepper Deli, a raw/vegan restaurant because I had a living social deal I had to use up ($10 for $20 worth of food). I got the Pad Thai and the bf got the Nachos. I wish I would have brought my camera. The Pad Thai was amazing! Shredded Zucchini for the noodles, mmm. The nachos were more of a salad than nachos. We also got the Blueberry Pie smoothie which was good, but is something that I can easily make at home. I highly recommend trying out this place if you are in the area!
