I had a jar of applesauce in the fridge that I need to use up, so I decided to make some pancakes out of it. First I found Mom's Applesauce Pancakes on Allrecipes and would have made them if they didn't require pancake mix. Then I found a recipe for Oatmeal and Applesauce Pancakes on Allrecipes and was a bit leery to try it until I found it on Preety's Kitchen Blog. Figured if someone else liked them enough to blog about them then they had to be good...right?
First mixed together all the wet and dry ingredients. Never used sour cream before in pancakes...interesting...
Why use pancake mix when flour and baking soda/powder will do just fine?!
The batter was REALLY thick!
Spooned them by the quarter cup full into the skillet. Had to smoosh them down with the fork to get them flat.
Overall, they were ok. Very thick though...and I like my pancakes fluffy. I don't think I would make them again, but they were worth trying once.
